At the age of 14 years old his family bought a Hyundai Excel Racecar and Lachlan started doing driver training at Norwell Motorplex. Once he had cut a couple hundred, if not thousands of laps at Norwell in his Excel, he did his first Excel Cup Race at Queensland Raceway. From there he has continued to hone his race craft at tracks like Mount Panorama, Morgan Park, Reid Park, Hiddenvalley and Queensland Raceway before making his way into the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 Series at the beginning of 2021.
Throughout the interupted 2021 TGRA 86 Series with Lachlan only being able to compete at Townsville and Bathurst. Paul Morris along with Erebus Motorsport selected 6 young up and coming drivers to test the Erebus V8 Supercar at Queensland Raceway, Lachlan was one of those six selected and drove to a very high standard on the day of the test.
In 2022 Lachlan has made the jump to McElrea Racing for his first season of the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge and is determined to put MR on the top step of the championship.

Any other personal interests you would like to share?
- Whilst racing plays a massive role in my life, I have rowed, played football, basketball, ride motocross, jet skiing, fishing, scuba diving, surfing and much more. Whilst I have always competed in school sports growing up, I'm giving that away for my final year of school to concentrate on Motorsport and studies where I am working towards gaining entry into University.
What are your favourite motorsport moment?
- Going to the Formula 1 in Melbourne every year with my Dad would have to be up there, but travelling around the country and watching all of his races in the Aussie Racing Cars would have to be at the top.
What is your all-time favourite race car?
- The Porsche 992 Cup Car!
What is your favourite race circuit?
- Mount Panorama, Bathurst
